Whole body healing awaits! Traditional Chinese Medicine provides physical, emotional and mental healing at the deepest levels. We use authentic Chinese medical treatments that have stood the test of time: acupuncture, cupping, tui na, gua sha and herbal medicine. Diet and lifestyle changes may also be recommended to support your health goals.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture uses sterile, single-use needles (thinner than a hair) to stimulate specific points on the skin’s surface. This action works as a signal to the deeper body systems to promote healing and balance. An acupuncture treatment typically involves the use of several points in combination to affect a desired outcome. Acupuncture has been tested extensively in controlled clinical trials, and the World Health Organization published a 96-page report on acupuncture’s treatment efficacy for various diseases and disorders.

Cupping

Cupping is a technique that uses bamboo jars and heat to suction the skin to stimulate deeper healing. The “upward suctioning” action loosens underlying structures to release adhesion and stiffness in ways that typical “pressure down” massage does not. The increase in localized blood flow flushes stagnant blood and fluids to revitalize the body and promote healing. Cupping is used to treat muscle aches and pains, digestive ailments, skin disorders and more. Gua sha is a skin-scraping technique using a massage tool. This action breaks up stagnant qi (or energy) to address issues such as chronic and acute pain.

Tui Na

Tui na is a form of massage that applies pressure to meridians, acupressure points, and groups of muscles and nerves to remove blockages. The benefits include relief from chronic and acute pain in the neck, shoulders, hips, back, arms, thighs, legs and ankles. Tui na is effective for TMJ, arthritis, sciatica and muscle aches and spasms. Additionally, tui na can regulate structural imbalances to alleviate related symptoms such as headaches and digestive ailments.

Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine has a long history dating back 4000 years. The ancient scholar physician Shen Nong harvested and documented the properties of hundreds of herbs. Chinese herbal medicine continues to evolve today, and is used for a variety of modern health concerns, including allergies, asthma, migraines, IBS, insomnia, addictions, anxiety, and stress.  Herbal medicine may be used in combination with acupuncture or alone.
